Quiet by design.

Seren is built around temporary anonymous Sparks and live voice moments. This policy explains what we collect, what we avoid, and how safety records work.

Information we collect

Seren collects only what is needed to operate the service: your email address for account access, your date of birth confirmation, language preference, temporary Sparks you post, call request records, call session metadata, device push tokens if notifications are enabled, reports, blocks, and basic technical logs that help us keep the app reliable and safe.

What we do not collect by design

Seren does not create public profiles, follower graphs, likes, public comments, public message history, or replayable social feeds. Seren is built around temporary anonymous thoughts and live conversations.

Sparks and temporary content

Sparks are short anonymous thoughts that are visible for a limited time. A Spark may expire, be deleted, be removed for safety reasons, or disappear when a call request is accepted. Even though Sparks are temporary in the app, we may keep limited backend records where needed for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, debugging, or service integrity.

Voice calls

Seren is voice-first. Calls are designed to be live and temporary. We do not build Seren around public replays or permanent call history. We may store limited call metadata such as participants, Spark reference, start time, end time, duration, technical connection state, and reports or blocks connected to a call.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Seren may store a device push token so we can notify you about Spark requests, accepted calls, timeouts, reminders, and safety-related updates. Logging out or switching accounts may update or remove device-specific notification records.

Safety, reports, and blocks

If you report or block someone, Seren may store the report reason, related Spark or call details, user IDs, timestamps, and any note you provide. We use this information to review abuse, reduce repeat harmful contact, enforce our rules, and protect users.

How we use information

We use information to provide authentication, show and expire Sparks, route call requests, connect voice calls, prevent spam and abuse, investigate reports, improve reliability, comply with law, and communicate important service or safety updates.

Sharing and service providers

We may use trusted service providers such as Supabase for authentication and database services, Expo for push notifications, Agora for voice calls, hosting providers for the website, and analytics or diagnostics tools. These providers process information only as needed to help Seren work.

Age limit

Seren is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use Seren. We may ask for date of birth information or confirmation to help enforce this requirement.

Your choices

You can choose not to post a Spark, decline notification permissions, delete an active Spark, block users, report safety concerns, or stop using Seren. Some safety, abuse-prevention, or legal records may be retained for a limited period even after content disappears from the app.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Seren, but no internet service is completely secure. You should avoid sharing sensitive personal, financial, medical, legal, or emergency information during Sparks or calls.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Seren changes. If the changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the app, website, or email.
